AVN’s historical country, the deployment of the program in Burkina Faso started in 1998 around Boromo. To date, 28 local employees and 1 expatriate employee of the AVN Burkina Faso team implement the program around 6 regions: Koubri, Sabou, Yako, Dédougou, Bama and Diébougou.

Buildings constructed

  • 1413 worksites completed since 2000 for a total of 53,500 m2
  • 84% of buildings used for housing
  • 82% of buildings constructed in rural areas
  • 517 localities with at least 1 NV building
  • 12% of buildings involved a partner organization in 2016-2017
  • 18% average growth in 2016-2017

Training of a workforce

  • 350 apprentices, masons, artisans and entrepreneurs active in 2016-2017
  • 130 new apprentices have joined the training in 2016-2017
  • 176 qualifications for trainees were approved by worksite
    foremen, including 120 apprentices, 41 masons and 17
    artisans
  • 130 cement masons received training at 68 worksites under the "Cement Mason Promotion"
  • 14 artisans took an introductory course in Entrepreneurial Training
  • More than 30 trainer masons led on-site activities and were involved in developing new methodologies and focuses for training.
