The French Ambassador visits Boromo

Mr. Xavier Lapeyre de Cabanes, the French Ambassador to Burkina Faso, accompanied by a delegation of 10 staff from the French Embassy, met AVN’s national team in Boromo at the beginning of May.

This was a chance for the delegation to visit some rural NV buildings, and to understand the benefits of the NV concept (thermal, acoustic, comfort, aesthetic, durability...), as well as the promotional methods used by AVN. The Ambassador appreciated the AVN programme as an integrated solution to many of the development challenges faced in Africa. He offered to support AVN’s efforts at integrating the NV concept into the country’s national developmental agenda.

As he spent the night in an NV building, the Ambassador was able to experience for himself the thermal and acoustic comfort provided by the NV technique, sleeping well even though a violent storm and torrential rains raged outside.

Once again, this visit demonstrates the interest shown by influential actors in the NV concept: the programme in Burkina Faso has benefitted from French support through several agencies (FFEM, AFD, SCAC, PISCCA), some directly linked to the French Embassy. The US Ambassador had also visited the AVN team in Boromo in February last year.

The French Ambassdor to Ghana will be visiting the AVN-Ghana team in Bolgatanga shortly.
