AVN's MISSION
In sub-Saharan Africa, the struggle to obtain decent housing plunges millions of families into a vicious circle of poverty. Association la Voûte Nubienne (AVN) offers a solution to this problem, based on three integrated concepts:
A Roof + A Skill + A Market
AVN organises the training and support of local teams to promote this solution on a large-scale. As a result, families can acquire affordable, sustainable, and decent housing, at the same time improving their economic conditions, their quality of life, and their environment.

At the start of the second season of promotion of the NV concept, the NGO Le Partenariat and AVN recently organised the first NV masons' congress and training workshops in the Podor region of northern Senegal.
Urban Green Energy, a sustainable energy company, hosted a party on November 30th at the 'Greenhouse' nightclub in Manhattan, the $605 proceeds of which are being donated to AVN. Many thanks from us to all those guests who contributed.

This beautiful house was built recently by Moussa Kanoute, a NV apprentice in Mauritania: an imaginative adaptation of the NV technique to local vernacular traditions.
