In the established zones in Burkina Faso, Senegal, and Mali, trained VN builders are now becoming independent entrepreneurs, and new VN houses and other buildings are financed by the clients.

In new zones, ’pump-priming’ help is needed to bring them, as soon as possible, to the same state of financial autonomy, with trained VN builders becoming self-sufficient, bringing the benefits of the programme to many more families in need of affordable and comfortable housing.

To help open new zones in Burkina Faso, Mali, Senegal, Zambia, and in other countries from where requests are coming (Togo, Ghana, Kenya...), and to organise new apprenticeship schemes, the VN Association must secure ongoing financial support. Some already comes from various institutional partners, but continuing support depends on the Association finding matching funding from elsewhere, from private individuals as well as from corporate sponsors and other organisations.

Our work in Africa will only pay off if, in the long term (30 years from now), it produces significant macro-economic results involving large-scale adoption of the VN technique such that it becomes an accepted part of the vernacular architectural heritage. To achieve this goal, we need your help....

The AVN guarantees that any funds contributed by donors - whether from private individuals or from institutional sources - will be used effectively and responsibly to support the overall strategy of the Programme, and that the results obtained will be made publicly available.
